According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 27th, a student A (20), who attends the Shincheonji Church of Jesus in Daegu, tested positive for COVID-19 after examination in Yeongyang County.
A was classified as a suspected patient in Daegu recently and was in isolation at home in Yeongyang-eup.
After A drove home from Daegu by car, there were no further movements reported.
The county decided to collect test samples from A's family and request COVID-19 testing. Additionally, a department at Yeongyang County Office where A's parents work was closed, and the employees were placed under self-quarantine.
Yeongyang County is focusing on tracing A's movements and contacts, and has initiated disinfection efforts targeting the vicinity of A's home, public institutions, and multi-use facilities.
