[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] SSG.com announced on the 27th that it will exclusively launch the American luxury brand ‘Senreve’ in Korea.
The Hong Kong SPA brand ‘6IXTY8IGHT’ also recently entered the Korean market through SSG.com.
SSG.com plans to expand its fashion portfolio by adding luxury and SPA brands and offer reasonably priced products to customers.
‘Senreve’ is a luxury brand from California, USA, known for its ‘leather bags’ crafted by Italian artisans. Although still unfamiliar in Korea, it has gained popularity in the US after launch, with increasing instances of Hollywood actors wearing the brand.
SSG.com plans to operate a total of 52 products. Among them, the representative product is the ‘Maestra’ bag. It is available in three sizes and can be styled in various ways as a backpack, tote bag, or shoulder bag, making it highly versatile.
Additionally, SSG.com has adopted a ‘direct-to-consumer’ shipping policy to reduce distribution processes by delivering products directly from overseas. This means products sold in the US will arrive directly at customers’ doorsteps. As a result, brands that were previously only available locally can now be quickly purchased through SSG.com.
From the 28th of this month to the 13th of next month, SSG.com will also run a promotion offering a leather tray worth approximately 140,000 KRW as a gift for purchases over 600,000 KRW.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, SSG.com completed the exclusive launch of the Hong Kong SPA brand ‘6IXTY8IGHT’. ‘6IXTY8IGHT’ offers underwear and casual products at reasonable prices and is popular in Asian countries.
They are currently selling a total of 1,500 products, with representative items including seamless bras, bra tops, bralettes, and homewear priced between 10,000 and 30,000 KRW.
The reason why overseas fashion companies have consecutively chosen to enter SSG.com is analyzed to be due to its leading position in fashion with many exclusive overseas luxury brand acquisitions and its highly trusted image.
Regarding this, Hong Hee-jung, Senior Researcher of Beauty & Fashion at Euromonitor, said, “Korea is one of the very important countries for overseas fashion brands, and for those who value unique brand value, the characteristics of Korean consumers are an important indicator.” According to Euromonitor, the Korean designer clothing market ranks 8th in the world, estimated at about 4.7 trillion KRW in 2020.
Going forward, SSG.com plans to continuously discover overseas fashion brands that have not yet entered Korea. Through active collaboration, they aim to increase exclusive domestic launches and offer customers a variety of products to broaden their choices.
Myeong Noh-hyun, Head of Trend Products at SSG.com, said, “The excellent evaluations of already entered companies and the high fashion sales growth rate of over 25% last year were effective,” adding, “SSG.com will respect the brand images held by overseas fashion companies and do its best to provide a customized domestic platform through active idea proposals.”
