"Support for President Moon Jae-in" 청 National Petition Surpasses 200,000 in One Day

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] A public petition supporting President Moon Jae-in has gained over 200,000 endorsements within a day of being posted.

On the 26th, a petition titled "We Support President Moon Jae-in!" was posted on the Blue House public petition board. By 9:45 PM on the same day, just one day after being posted, the petition had received over 240,000 endorsements.

The petitioner stated, "All citizens of the Republic of Korea are going through a difficult time due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)," and added, "For the health of the people,

everyone in the government, including the President, is working tirelessly day and night to eradicate the virus."

He claimed, "The pseudo-religious group Shincheonji, which remains silent and uncooperative despite the government's requests for cooperation," and emphasized, "Despite these adverse conditions, the President is working day and night solely for the safety of the people."

He continued, "Numerous fake news stories are making things difficult for the President, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and various government departments, but many citizens of the Republic of Korea trust and support the President," and stressed, "We will definitely overcome this difficult time together with the President, and I firmly believe that the majority of Korean citizens will overcome it together with trust in the government."

Finally, he added, "We always support you," and "The Republic of Korea with President Moon will surely overcome this difficult situation."

Earlier, on the 4th, a petition titled "We Urge the Impeachment of President Moon Jae-in" was posted. As of 9:45 PM on the 26th, that petition had recorded over 810,000 endorsements.

The petitioner stated, "Our country has only presented superficial entry ban measures and has not implemented any substantial measures," and raised their voice, saying, "As the President of the Republic of Korea, shouldn't the most important priority be 'protecting our citizens'?"

He argued, "If the President truly cared about the citizens, entry bans should have been imposed on all regions of China," and added, "We can no longer just watch."

He then said, "It is difficult to consider Moon Jae-in as our country's President," and added, "We urge impeachment."
