On the 26th (local time) at noon, the Iranian Ministry of Health announced that the number of deaths increased by 4 and confirmed cases by 44, reaching 19 and 139 respectively. Confirmed cases were concentrated in Qom, Gilan, and Tehran, with 15, 9, and 4 cases respectively.
Since the first confirmed cases and deaths of 2 each were reported on the 19th, the virus has rapidly spread centered around the central religious city of Qom. The number of deaths due to COVID-19 is the second highest after China.
