Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun is visiting and inspecting the site at the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service Daegu Hospital, which has been designated as a national infectious disease specialized hospital.
Asia Economy reporter Kwangho Lee] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said on the 26th, "If the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is not treated early, the illness can worsen and in severe cases lead to death, so it is important to have a speed race to receive prompt hospitalization and treatment."
On the same day, Prime Minister Chung visited the Daegu Hospital of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service in northern Daegu to check the status of additional bed 확보 and made these remarks.
The Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service Daegu Hospital was designated as a national infectious disease dedicated hospital on the 23rd, and by the 25th, it discharged about 140 inpatients. It plans to start dedicated hospital treatment focusing on isolation treatment for mild patients on the 28th.
A total of 200 beds have been prepared, and by the 27th, the staff will be reinforced to deploy a total of 386 personnel, including 31 doctors.
Prime Minister Chung said, "There must be no mistakes in the process of accommodating COVID-19 patients," and urged, "Please pay special attention to prevent the infection from spreading to medical staff."
He added, "If these efforts bear fruit well, the citizens of Daegu will have the opportunity to regain hope and do their best in their respective positions," and pledged, "We will do our best to achieve a successful conclusion."
Meanwhile, the meeting was attended by Kang Soon-hee, Chairperson of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service; Kim Bong-ok, Director of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service Daegu Hospital; Kim Gye-jo, Head of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety; and Kang Do-tae, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
