[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] BMW Korea announced on the 26th that it will begin pre-orders for the New M8 Gran Coupe Competition, the most powerful model in the BMW lineup.
The New M8 Gran Coupe Competition is equipped with a 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine delivering a maximum output of 625 horsepower and a peak torque of 76.5 kg.m, paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The top speed is 305 km/h (with the M Driver Package applied).
Additionally, BMW’s latest all-wheel-drive system, M xDrive, is applied. The M xDrive, an all-wheel-drive system based on rear-wheel drive, allows the driver to select between all-wheel drive, all-wheel drive sport, and a fully rear-wheel-drive mode. This enables enjoyment of everything from the stable and efficient driving characteristic of all-wheel drive to the dynamic driving of rear-wheel drive.
Along with this, the newly developed M model exclusive ‘M Mode’ and integrated braking system have been introduced. M Mode is a function that sets the intervention level of various driver assistance systems, offering three settings: ‘Road,’ ‘Sport,’ and ‘Track,’ the latter being exclusive to the Competition model for race circuit use.
The price of the BMW New M8 Gran Coupe Competition is 238.1 million KRW, with a planned domestic release at the end of March. For more detailed information about the BMW New M8 Gran Coupe Competition, please contact your nearest BMW showroom or the BMW Communication Center.
