Hyundai Steel announced that its notice of the general shareholders' meeting sent to shareholders on the 25th included an agenda to appoint Seong Jin Seo, Vice President of Hyundai Steel, as an inside director.
This measure was taken to appoint a successor following Chairman Chung's intention to step down.
Chairman Chung will now only retain inside director positions at Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, and Hyundai Mobis within the group.
A company official explained, "Hyundai Steel will be operated under professional management, and Vice Chairman Chung appears to be focusing more on the automobile business."
