[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is taking the lead in protecting the safety of vulnerable groups by conducting proactive COVID-19 prevention activities in collaboration with meaningful local companies.
In this regard, local business K-Sewoong Construction donated 300 bottles of 500㎖ hand sanitizer on the 19th to help protect the safety of vulnerable groups and residents using welfare facilities who are struggling due to the spread of COVID-19.
The donated items will be distributed to vulnerable groups and small-scale welfare facilities in the area through the Yeongdeungpo-gu Community Chest of Korea.
On the afternoon of the 19th at 5 p.m., Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, held a 'Hand Sanitizer Support Delivery Ceremony for Vulnerable Groups and Small Welfare Facilities' at the district office main building with Yoo Jin-hyun, Chairman of K-Sewoong Construction, and expressed his gratitude to Chairman Yoo.
Additionally, the district is implementing multifaceted administrative measures to prevent the spread of infection in the community, including producing and distributing infection prevention kits, supporting disinfection devices for small welfare facilities, and providing disinfection support for housing-vulnerable groups.
The social contribution activities of Yeongdeungpo companies are increasingly noticeable, including K-Sewoong Construction’s hand sanitizer sponsorship, Koscom’s disinfection device sponsorship, and NH Nonghyup Financial Group’s sponsorship of domestic agricultural products and hand sanitizers.
Meanwhile, K-Sewoong Construction is a company actively leading community contribution activities, having donated 30 million KRW in scholarships to the district scholarship foundation in 2019.
Chae Hyun-il, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “We thank K-Sewoong Construction for coming together to overcome COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to create a warm Yeongdeungpo by spreading a culture of donation with local companies.”
