[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] A final confirmed case of COVID-19 has been reported at LS Tower in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where LS Group affiliates and Samil Accounting Corporation are located.
According to LS officials on the 25th, an employee working in the office on the 16th floor of LS Tower tested positive in the second test following the first test on the 24th, confirming the final COVID-19 diagnosis. LS Group closed the building on the afternoon of the 24th, and Yongsan-gu began disinfection efforts from the morning of the 25th.
The patient, who resides in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, is an employee of an LS Group affiliate and reportedly went to a public health center for testing after going to work on the 24th.
Following the confirmed case, LS Group has shifted employees of its affiliates located in LS Tower, including LS Corporation, LS Cable & System, LS Nikko Copper Inc., E1, and LS Networks, to work from home until the end of this week.
In particular, employees on the 15th and 16th floors of LS Tower, where the confirmed patient worked, will conduct work from home for two weeks.
An LS official stated, "The confirmed patient's team members are currently in self-quarantine, and after the epidemiological investigation by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, we will decide on additional measures based on the results."
