To Prevent the Spread of COVID-19... National Maritime Museum, Lighthouse Museum, Fisheries Science Museum, and Others Temporarily Closed

[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on the 25th that, as the infectious disease alert level for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been raised to 'serious,' it will temporarily close marine cultural facilities under its jurisdiction, including the National Maritime Museum, and lighthouse marine cultural spaces.

According to this measure, starting from today, the marine cultural facilities under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, including the National Maritime Museum, National Lighthouse Museum, National Fisheries Science Museum, National Marine Biodiversity Institute, and nine lighthouse marine cultural spaces (Yeongdo, Odongdo, Udo, Sokcho, Mukho, Ganjeolgot, Ulgi, Palmido, Somaemuldo), will be temporarily closed until further notice. The 24th was the regular closing day for these facilities.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plans to monitor the spread of COVID-19 and decide on reopening these facilities, announcing updates separately through each institution’s website.
