[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] It has been confirmed that a Korean Air flight attendant tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Accordingly, Korean Air has closed its Incheon office located near Incheon International Airport and initiated disinfection measures.
Korean Air announced on the 25th that, following the positive COVID-19 diagnosis of one of its flight attendants, it plans to temporarily close the Incheon office from the afternoon of the same day and carry out disinfection procedures.
In response to this confirmed case, Korean Air will thoroughly conduct in-flight disinfection and proactively implement self-quarantine measures for crew members exhibiting similar symptoms.
Additionally, thermal imaging cameras have been installed at major workplaces to monitor employees for fever symptoms. It is also reported that cameras have been installed at offices near Gimpo Airport and other locations.
Furthermore, since the 23rd, joint briefings for flight and cabin crew that were previously held at the Incheon office have been conducted shipside, next to the aircraft.
A Korean Air official stated, "We are establishing a close cooperation system with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency to prevent the spread of infectious diseases," adding, "Detailed information will be provided in consultation with the agency."
