According to Kyodo News on the 25th, a passenger in his 80s who had disembarked from the Diamond Princess and was hospitalized for treatment at a medical institution died on that day.

With this, the total number of confirmed deaths among passengers aboard the Diamond Princess has increased to four.

Among the four deceased, two men and women in their 80s were confirmed to have been infected with COVID-19.

Regarding the man in his 80s who died earlier on the 23rd, the Japanese government did not disclose whether he was infected, stating that the family did not consent.
