[Asia Economy (Cheonan) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] A woman in her 40s residing in Cheonan, Chungnam, has been confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). She is the second confirmed case in Chungnam.
According to Chungnam Province and Cheonan City on the 25th, A (47, female) visited the external screening clinic at Cheonan Chungmu Hospital around 3 PM the previous day with a fever symptom (37.9°C) and underwent an infection test.
After the test, A was quarantined at home and was confirmed positive around 10 AM on the 25th, after which she was transferred to the public health center.
The quarantine authorities are currently conducting an epidemiological investigation on A, and after the investigation, she is scheduled to be transferred to Dankook University Hospital in Cheonan.
A provincial official stated, "So far, no connection between A and the Shincheonji Church has been confirmed," and added, "We are investigating the route through which A was infected with COVID-19 and will disclose related information later."
Meanwhile, the first confirmed case in Chungnam occurred on the 21st in Gyeryong City. A is the second confirmed COVID-19 case in the region.
