"Annual Savings of 14,600 Hours on Simple Tasks Possible"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Glovis announced on the 25th that it has introduced a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) system. RPA refers to a solution that automates repetitive tasks performed by humans on computers, such as data entry, through robot software.
Hyundai Glovis previously piloted and operated RPA within its in-house Integrated Logistics Research Institute and IT dedicated organization, and has been actively applying this system to its operations since this year. Among the 64 tasks initially identified, 15 tasks were prioritized for application, including ▲acquisition of distance data ▲input of export customs clearance codes for new parts ▲entry of cargo order information.
Hyundai Glovis expects to save approximately 14,600 hours annually in handling simple and repetitive office tasks such as data entry through the introduction of RPA.
Hyundai Glovis plans to expand the number of RPA application tasks to more than 40 within the year, aiming to enhance productivity across all areas of work. The company intends to delegate simple and repetitive tasks to robots, allowing employees to focus on more creative work.
A Hyundai Glovis official stated, "RPA can process large amounts of data in a short time compared to manual work and has fewer data errors, resulting in very high work efficiency. Employees can reduce time spent on simple and repetitive tasks and concentrate on more productive, high value-added work, which will improve competitiveness for both employees and the company."
