The United Future Party stated, "Floor Leader Shim attended the same event as a COVID-19 confirmed case, but at that time, the confirmed case and Floor Leader Shim were seated three seats apart."
The party added, "Immediately after confirming this fact, Floor Leader Shim visited the screening clinic and completed the test this morning," and "The test results are expected to be released tomorrow morning." According to the party, Floor Leader Shim's health condition is good, and the attending physician has recommended self-quarantine rather than isolation until the test results are available.
The party emphasized, "We will inform you immediately once the test results are out," and "The test conducted today was a proactive measure, so please do not misunderstand." They also added, "We inform you that Floor Leader Shim proposed to the ruling party and the Speaker of the National Assembly to postpone the plenary session to preemptively block even a 1% chance of transmission."
Meanwhile, Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the United Future Party, who confirmed that Floor Leader Shim had contact with a confirmed case, canceled his election campaign schedule in Jongno on the same day.
