LGU+ "36% of Galaxy S20 Pre-Registrants Choose 'Pink'"

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] LG Uplus analyzed the pre-order subscription status of Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S20 and found that the exclusive color 'Cloud Pink' was the most popular.

LG Uplus announced on the 23rd that, based on its own survey of pre-order subscriptions over two days from the 20th to the 21st, 36.1% of all pre-order subscribers chose 'Cloud Pink,' the LG Uplus exclusive color among the four Galaxy S20 colors. This was followed by Cosmic Gray (28.6%), Cloud Blue (18.2%), and Cloud White (17.2%).

In particular, on U+ Shop, LG Uplus's official online mall, 60.1% of pre-order customers selected Cloud Pink. For the Galaxy S20+, Cosmic Gray (35.9%) and Cloud Blue (35.7%) were chosen at similar levels, with Cloud White (28.4%) following. For the Galaxy S20 Ultra, customers who chose Cosmic Black (60.4%) were about 1.5 times more than those who selected Cosmic Gray (39.6%).

Looking at the pre-order subscription status by model, the Galaxy S20 Ultra accounted for 40.7%, Galaxy S20 for 32.8%, and Galaxy S20+ for 26.5%, indicating the highest preference for the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

LG Uplus explained that Cloud Pink is expected to have high demand among female customers in their 20s and 30s, and considering that the main user base is female, the exclusive color was applied to the relatively smaller Galaxy S20 among the three models.

Despite the Galaxy S20 Ultra being the highest-priced model, its strong response is analyzed to be due to early adopter consumers who prefer the ultra-high-definition camera features flocking during the pre-order period. LG Uplus expects that when full sales begin next month for general customers, the subscription proportion for the Galaxy S20 among the three models will increase compared to the current level.
