Gyeonggi Urban Corporation Conducts 'Safety Inspections' During Thawing Season at 28 Construction Sites in the Province

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation is conducting thawing season safety inspections and KOSHA 18001 performance measurements at 28 construction sites in the province in collaboration with Korea Construction Management Corporation.

The thawing season safety inspection items include ▲ground subsidence at construction sites and surrounding areas ▲slope instability such as collapse in cut and fill sections ▲damage to underground buried facilities caused by ground loosening and subsidence due to frozen ground thawing ▲installation status of safety facilities for accident prevention, etc.

KOSHA 18001 performance measurement is conducted to quantitatively measure and evaluate the activities carried out according to safety and health management goals and detailed implementation plans, and to manage them in order to achieve the objectives of the basic safety management plan.

Lee Heon-wook, President of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation, emphasized, "We will do our best to ensure the safety of workers at all construction sites and will continuously improve the system to create safer construction sites in the future."

Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation was the first urban corporation nationwide to acquire KOSHA 18001 certification in 2012.

In January this year, it received board approval for the '2020 Basic Safety Management Plan' to prevent construction site safety accidents in advance and promote zero accidents.
