Seoul National University Administrative Staff Family Confirmed with COVID-19... Engineering Building Under Disinfection Measures

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Access to the engineering building at Seoul National University was restricted after a family member of an employee working at the College of Engineering tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to Seoul National University on the 23rd, the mother of administrative staff member A at the College of Engineering tested positive for COVID-19 in a test the previous day, leading A to enter self-quarantine.

A currently shows no symptoms such as fever or respiratory issues and is being monitored by the Gwanak-gu Public Health Center. Although A does not live with their mother, it is known that they recently shared a meal together once.

Seoul National University disinfected Building 301 where A works, as well as the cafeterias in Building 302 and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences that A visited, and announced these measures on the College of Engineering website.

Earlier, Seoul National University also shortened the operating hours of the Central Library, which had been open 24 hours. From the 25th of this month until the 15th of next month, the use hours for all reading rooms and material rooms in the Central Library will be changed to 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
