[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Anyang City in Gyeonggi Province has issued a closure order for all 446 daycare centers in the area on the 22nd following the occurrence of COVID-19 confirmed cases within the city.
According to Anyang City, all daycare centers in the area have been ordered to close until the 6th of next month. Additionally, four private kindergartens currently in operation will also close until the 28th of this month after consultation with the education authorities.
This measure was taken after it was confirmed that the grandson of taxi driver Mr. A, residing in Hogye-dong, who tested positive for COVID-19, lives in the same household and attends the nearby 'Keunkkum Sup Daycare Center.'
However, to support dual-income families, each daycare center has been assigned a duty teacher to provide emergency childcare services.
