The woman in her 30s, Ms. A, who tested positive for COVID-19 in Sokcho, is the wife of an Army officer. It was confirmed that from the 14th to the 19th, she visited her younger sibling's home in Daegu with her husband and son. Ms. A tested positive for COVID-19, and her husband is currently undergoing testing. Her son tested negative.
The unit to which Ms. A's husband belongs is reportedly taking measures such as internal inspections and strengthening quarantine protocols.
The other confirmed case, Mr. B, was identified as a soldier serving as a full-time reservist in a nearby unit. After traveling to Danyang, Chungbuk, and Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk from the 13th to the 15th, he began showing symptoms on the 19th. Mr. B went to the base in the afternoon on the 19th and left in the morning on the 20th.
Sokcho City has transferred Ms. A to a nearby negative pressure ward for treatment, and is currently in discussions with military authorities and hospitals regarding the transfer of Mr. B.
