Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang Undang Inn Concert Held from Next Month 19 to 29

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Seoul Donhwamun Gugakdang will hold the 2020 planned performance "Undang Inn Concert" from next month 19 to 29.

Eight teams, who are creating their own musical worlds through creative work, are scheduled to perform.

Ipgwa Son Studio will perform highlights from the representative pansori series "Pansori Fairy Tale Series-Andersen" and "Complete Pansori Project 2-Gangsanje Sugungga." Following this, sorikkun Jang Seo-yoon's "Private Concert-Sasimga," National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 30 Gagok inheritor Jang Myung-seo's "MESSAGE 2," creative gugak group Bulsechul's "Bulsechul," gugak ensemble music group Namu's "Song of Willow," and creative gugak pieces, as well as 25-string gayageum player Seo Jeong-min's "25-string Gayageum Concert-Approaching Seo Jeong-min's Music," Korean Gypsy Sangjalu's "_Taryeong," and geomungo player Hwang Jin-a's "The Middle" gugak performances will be presented, allowing audiences to experience a "modern-day Undang Inn" over two weeks.

Undang Inn was a hanok inn operated by human cultural asset No. 23 master singer Park Gwi-hee, a place frequented by artists visiting Jongno from the 1950s to the 1980s, and it holds the history of being a cradle for Go competitions such as the National Noodles Championship and National Flag Championship. The "Undang Inn Concert" was planned to revive the meaning of the actual "Undang Inn" located in Unni-dong, Jongno-gu, where artists realized their creative works.

This year's Undang Inn Concert will be held as a talk concert, allowing in-depth discussions about the concerns of young creators making music.

The performances start at 7:30 PM on Thursdays and Fridays, and at 3 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Admission is 20,000 KRW for all seats. There is a 40% discount for those who book all 8 performances and a 30% discount for those who book 4 performances.
