The United Future Party announced that all of Hwang's schedules were canceled due to the spread of COVID-19.
Originally, Hwang was scheduled to campaign around Tongin Market, Cheongun, and Hyoja-dong at 12:30 PM, and at 3:30 PM, he planned to campaign around Bukchon Hanok Village, focusing on Samcheong and Gahoe-dong.
However, as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rapidly increased by more than 100 on that day, the schedule was canceled. According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of the morning of the 22nd, the number of confirmed cases was 346, an increase of 142 from the previous day (204).
