Strengthening Online Communication with Residents... Positive Response through Prompt and Accurate COVID-19 Information... Addressing Information Blind Spots and Providing Customized Information by Gender, Age Group, Interests, and Region
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu announced that it officially opened the 'Jungnang-gu KakaoTalk Channel' on the 7th of this month to activate online communication with residents.
By accessing ‘KakaoTalk’ and searching for ‘Jungnang-gu Office’ in the search bar at the top right, then clicking ‘Add Channel,’ users can receive various district administration information. Currently, the channel has surpassed 600 KakaoTalk friends, with a goal of 5,000 by the end of this year.
The district already promotes its administration through various SNS platforms such as blogs, Facebook, and Instagram, but since preferred SNS platforms vary by generation and the nature of these platforms may cause information gaps among certain groups,
to prevent this, they added the most popular and convenient SNS, the 'KakaoTalk Channel,' to eliminate information blind spots.
Going forward, the district plans to actively use KakaoTalk to provide useful district information such as major events and welfare benefits, as well as urgent disaster and emergency news.
In addition, the district will provide the previously offline-published district newsletter 'Jungnang News' monthly via messages, and by utilizing KakaoTalk’s targeting technology, it will offer customized information based on gender, age group, interests, and region.
In particular, COVID-19 related information was produced as easy-to-understand card news and videos and sent via messages, receiving positive responses from residents.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “We will continue to strive to make interesting and useful information easily accessible at residents’ fingertips through the 'Jungnang-gu KakaoTalk Channel.' We will guarantee residents’ right to know and increase satisfaction by providing benefits and customized information that help daily life, taking a step closer to resident-centered administration.”
