Meeting to Review Progress on Measures Against the Spread of COVID-19

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do recently announced that it held a "COVID-19 Spread Preparedness Status Check Meeting" on the 21st at the Disaster Comprehensive Situation Room following the confirmation of a COVID-19 positive case in Gwangju.
Presided over by County Governor Jeon Dong-pyeong, the meeting was attended by heads of related departments and offices, who reported on the response status to COVID-19 and discussed future countermeasures.
The County Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters plans to proactively prevent COVID-19 by strengthening the promotion of preventive measures and disinfection in multi-use facilities, senior centers, lodging facilities, and restaurants where residents frequently gather, and by focusing on early detection of suspected cases and distribution of quarantine supplies centered on the public health center.
Jeon Dong-pyeong, Governor of Yeongam-gun, stated, "Since a COVID-19 positive case has occurred in nearby Gwangju, we must concentrate administrative efforts to ensure that our residents can live with peace of mind by doing our best in quarantine and situation management," and urged, "Especially, please actively prepare protection measures for vulnerable residents such as the elderly and children."
Meanwhile, Yeongam-gun has been organizing and operating the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters with Governor Jeon Dong-pyeong as the head since the 31st of last month, maintaining a 24-hour monitoring of the COVID-19 situation and thoroughly establishing a prevention and response system by checking the progress status.
