Busan Public Institutions Expand Local Product Purchases to Overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Busan City and the Busan Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration announced on the 21st that they will hold the ‘2020 Busan Public Institutions Regional Products Joint Purchase Consultation Meeting’ on the 26th at 9:30 a.m. in the large conference room on the first floor of City Hall. The event will be attended by 40 public institutions including public institutions relocated to Busan Innovation City, quasi-governmental organizations and public enterprises based in Busan, and public institutions under Busan City.
The joint purchase consultation meeting started in 2017, centered on public institutions relocated to Busan Innovation City. This year, the scale of participation has been expanded to include quasi-governmental organizations and public enterprises based in Busan, as well as public institutions under Busan City. The event date was moved up to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, and to expand public sales channels for local companies.
This event will be divided into a consultation meeting where purchasing managers from 40 institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises in the Busan area conduct one-on-one (1:1) customized consultations to introduce companies and explain products, and an exhibition to promote excellent local products of participating companies.
Companies wishing to participate can apply by referring to the announcement on the Busan City website or the Busan Small and Medium Venture Business Administration website by 6 p.m. on the 24th.
Gomija, Head of the Innovation Economy Division of Busan City, said, “This event will serve as a catalyst for revitalizing the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, and for Busan’s public institutions to contribute to the local community and coexist with local companies. We will make various efforts to support the growth of small and medium enterprises and public sales channels.”
