[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Standards Association (President Lee Sang-jin) announced on the 19th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Plan H Ventures (CEO Won Han-kyung) to foster outstanding startups that will lead the development of the early startup ecosystem and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Plan H Ventures is an accelerator launched in February last year with a capital investment of 5 billion KRW by Hoban Construction to secure competitiveness in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Korea Standards Association and Plan H Ventures plan to share know-how on discovering and nurturing promising early-stage companies and establish cooperative industrial network relationships. They will also actively engage in joint efforts for open innovation among startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, and mid-sized companies by providing education and mentoring for nurturing incubated companies.
Lee Sang-jin, President of the Korea Standards Association, said, "We will create a high-quality early startup ecosystem through close cooperation and joint efforts with Plan H Ventures," adding, "Furthermore, we hope to generate synergy for domestic startups to grow into global innovative companies." Won Han-kyung, CEO of Plan H Ventures, said, "To nurture early-stage startups into unicorn companies, it is essential not only to invest but also to strengthen business management capabilities through education and mentoring, which is why we partnered with the Korea Standards Association," adding, "We will do our best to foster unicorn companies."
