Guro-gu, Recruiting Students for Lifelong Education Programs

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is recruiting students for the first half of the year lifelong education programs.

On the 21st, Guro-gu announced that it will provide various lifelong learning programs to promote residents' self-development and improve their quality of life.

The education will be held from March 16 to June 11 at Guro-gu Lifelong Learning Center Buildings 1 and 2. The programs consist of 21 courses in four areas: citizen education, value growth, club sharing, and Guro Life School.

Courses that attract attention include ‘YouTube Creator Starting with a Smartphone,’ which teaches channel creation, video shooting, and editing techniques; ‘Natural Cosmetics DIY,’ where participants make soap, lotion, shampoo, and more using natural ingredients; ‘Planning a Southeast Asia Trip,’ which helps plan independent travel focusing on popular destinations; ‘Rebellious Modern Artists’ Resistance,’ which explains art history in an easy and enjoyable way; and ‘Changemaker Workshop,’ which identifies community issues and seeks solutions independently.

In addition, many distinctive lectures are offered, such as everyday tax management, Book Play Instructor Certification (Level 3), pressed flower art, fusion Nanta, architectural city tours, conflict mediation management courses, and one-person publishing company management.

The courses are open to Guro-gu residents or workers in the area.

Those who wish to participate can apply from the 24th to March 13 by visiting the Education Support Division of the district office or the Lifelong Learning Center, or through the Guro Lifelong Learning Center website (http://edu.guro.go.kr/lll/). Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis, and tuition fees are free or up to 30,000 KRW (materials fees separate).

A Guro-gu official said, “We have prepared high-quality lectures that go beyond simple cultural courses to satisfy residents’ diverse intellectual needs. We hope many people participate in this lifelong education program and enjoy the joy of learning.”
