On the 20th (local time), foreign media, citing local press, reported that far-right views were exposed in a confession letter left by the suspect.
In the letter, the suspect reportedly mentioned "eliminating certain ethnic groups that Germany has failed to deport." It was also reported that among the victims of the shooting were some Kurds, a minority group from the Middle East. The suspect was found dead in his apartment.
Meanwhile, German media, without specifying sources, reported that the suspect left a video admitting to the crime.
The suspect is accused of driving a vehicle and shooting at two bars in the city of Hanau, near Frankfurt, Germany, around 10 p.m. on the 19th, killing nine people.
