[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Able C&C announced on the 20th that it has appointed Jeong-yeol Jo as the new CEO and Executive Officer to strengthen its business capabilities.
The appointment is attributed to his deep understanding of the cosmetics market and his ability to operate both online and offline businesses. An Able C&C official explained, "The newly appointed CEO has a high level of understanding of the cosmetics market and global trends, as well as excellent capabilities in operating online and offline businesses and developing new ventures," adding, "He is the best candidate to lead Able C&C's next leap forward."
The newly appointed CEO and Executive Officer Jeong-yeol Jo graduated from Ewha Womans University with a degree in Sociology and also completed graduate studies there. He built his expertise in the cosmetics market and global trends while working at Unilever Korea and launched brands such as L'Or?al Paris and Kiehl's at L'Or?al Korea.
He later served as a strategic executive for MSD in the Asia region, Marketing Executive Director at Pizza Hut, and CEO of K Auction and Socar. He is known to possess comprehensive insights into both online and offline businesses as well as new ventures. Most recently, he served as CEO of Handok.
Meanwhile, Able C&C announced through its earnings disclosure on the same day that it achieved an operating profit of 1.8 billion KRW last year, overcoming an operating loss of 19 billion KRW in 2018 and successfully turning a profit within one year.
Sales recorded 422.2 billion KRW, a 22.2% increase compared to the same period last year, and a net loss of 9.8 billion KRW was recorded due to one-time expenses. Sales also increased for the first time in three years since 2016, marking a successful rebound.
