[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Hanwha Solutions is withdrawing from its polysilicon business, which has been operating at a loss for several years.
Hanwha Solutions announced on the 20th that it decided to exit the polysilicon business through a board meeting.
Accordingly, the residual value of the polysilicon production facilities was fully reflected as a loss in last year's performance.
Hanwha Solutions stated, "Since the polysilicon selling price is about half of the production cost, the more we increase the operating rate, the greater the losses will inevitably be. To resolve this uncertainty, we plan to wind down the business within this year."
