Support for Installation Costs of Low-NOx Boilers for Homes to Reduce Fine Dust and Save Heating Costs... Expanded Eligibility, 500,000 KRW Support for Low-Income Households (Recipients, Near-Poor), 200,000 KRW for General Households
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is implementing a support project for the installation of home-use low-NOx (eco-friendly condensing) boilers, which are effective in reducing fine dust and saving heating costs.
The low-NOx (eco-friendly condensing) boilers supported this time are more effective in reducing fine dust (nitrogen oxides from 173ppm to 20ppm) compared to general boilers, and have high thermal efficiency, allowing annual heating cost savings of up to 130,000 KRW.
The support target is homeowners or tenants installing home-use low-NOx boilers, and the subsidy is 200,000 KRW per unit. Low-income households such as those with a recipient certificate or near-poverty class can receive installation cost support of 500,000 KRW.
The support procedure is that residents who wish to install sign a boiler purchase contract with suppliers such as dealerships or construction companies, then fill out and submit a subsidy application form, after which the subsidy is provided to the supplier.
Documents for low-NOx boiler installation support can be checked on the Seongbuk-gu Office website, and submission methods include visiting the Environmental Division of Seongbuk-gu Office or mailing the documents.
An official from the district said, “We hope that through this support project, replacing with eco-friendly condensing boilers will save heating costs and protect families' health from fine dust.”
