[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon said that lawyer Kim Nam-guk, a member of the Democratic Party who is planning to run in the constituency of Democratic Party lawmaker Geum Tae-seop, is "exactly the same situation as with Kim Yong-min."
On the 19th, Jin posted on his Facebook under the title "Kim Nam-guk Threat Nomination Incident," stating, "I heard that lawyer Kim and former lawmaker Jeong Bong-ju had a phone call. I expected that."
He said, "Former lawmaker Jeong claims he only heard that Kim was going to run, but I’m sorry I’m not foolish enough to believe that," adding, "Considering that he even made terrifying threats to his own party not to get rid of Kim Nam-guk, it is reasonable to assume that their relationship goes beyond just a phone call."
He continued, "Back then, while Jeong Bong-ju was in prison, he put forward Kim Yong-min as a substitute to reserve the constituency," and pointed out, "When Kim Yong-min’s controversial remarks incident broke out, it was Jeong Bong-ju who prevented Kim Yong-min from being cut off. Protecting his own constituency was more important than the impact of the Kim Yong-min incident on the entire party."
Jin said, "It’s the same now," and added, "This time too, it is Jeong Bong-ju who is preventing Kim Nam-guk from being cut off. One person is more important than the impact on the entire party."

He said, "I didn’t understand why the Democratic Party leadership couldn’t deal with Kim Nam-guk, but it was all because of Jeong Bong-ju’s threats," adding, "Jeong Bong-ju is a scary person. It means he has something to expose, so he should just come clean."
He also said, "This is the kind of person he is, which is why I said he should never be involved in politics," and criticized, "He’s not even a thug, so what is he doing? Such threats are usually made only when one’s social or political life is in danger."
Earlier, on the 18th, former lawmaker Jeong posted a video on his YouTube channel 'BJ TV,' saying, "I warn the Democratic Party. If they do not accept the primary of the young candidate (lawyer Kim) who loves the party and thinks about the future, I will make a serious decision," and added, "This general election will become a black hole absorbing the name Jeong Bong-ju."
He emphasized, "It will be a black hole shaking the entire April 15 general election."
He said, "Lawyer Kim was often invited when I hosted 'Jeong Bong-ju’s Era of Dignity' on TV," and added, "Around 2 p.m., I got a call from lawyer Kim saying, ‘I will run in Seoul Gangseo-gap, sorry for not informing you earlier.’"
He added, "There are rumors that Jeong Bong-ju is controlling lawyer Kim behind the scenes, but I don’t have the capability to put lawyer Kim into the party."
