Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Woo Tae-hee, former 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (59), has been appointed as the full-time Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
KCCI held a general assembly of members on the 20th and resolved the 'New Vice Chairman Appointment Proposal,' appointing former Vice Minister Woo Tae-hee as the full-time Vice Chairman.
The newly appointed full-time Vice Chairman Woo graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Public Administration and earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Kyung Hee University. He passed the 27th Administrative Examination and served as Director of the Main Industry Bureau and Director of the Trade Cooperation Bureau at the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, then successively held positions as Director-General for Trade Negotiations, Deputy Minister for Trade, and 2nd Vice Minister at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
This is the first time that a former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has been appointed as the full-time Vice Chairman of KCCI.
A KCCI official stated, "The newly appointed full-time Vice Chairman Woo has extensive experience in areas such as trade, main industries, research and development (R&D), and energy, demonstrating a high level of understanding of economic and industrial issues. Considering his insight into industrial sites and coordination skills accumulated during trade negotiations, he was appointed as the full-time Vice Chairman."
