[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Actor Kim Bo-sung revealed that he donated masks to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
On the 19th, the MBC variety show 'Radio Star' featured actors Kim Bo-sung, Kim Kwang-gyu, Lim Eun-kyung, and Sechs Kies' Jang Su-won as guests.
That day, Kim Bo-sung attracted attention by appearing wearing a black mask.
In response to MC Kim Guk-jin's question, "I heard you recently kept your loyalty to South Korea. What does that mean?" he said, "There have been many problems because of COVID-19 these days," adding, "I donated 2,000 masks to Jincheon and 5,000 masks to Asan to help prevent the coronavirus."
He continued, "I kept my loyalty as a way to encourage the overseas Koreans," and added, "COVID-19 is a demon. Demons must be destroyed."
Kim Bo-sung also revealed that he almost lost sight in one eye while trying to keep his loyalty.
He said, "I participated in a mixed martial arts match to help children with pediatric cancer and was hit in the right eye. I lost vision in both eyes for three minutes," adding, "A child with pediatric cancer whom I support saw that and worried about me, saying they were also in pain."
He continued, "I promised the child, 'You get better, and I get better,' but even though the pediatric cancer cure rate is close to 80%, the child's condition worsened," and said, "When I asked the child to eat, they kept refusing to meet me. When I asked why, they said, 'I will eat when I am fully recovered and healthy.' Before the child passed away, they told their mother, 'How can I keep my promise with Bo-sung ajusshi?'" He shared this while tearing up.
