[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Lawyer Kim Nam-guk said on the 20th, addressing Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, "I believe Chairman Yoo also agrees with my candidacy for Gangseo-gap and has no objections."

In a post on his Facebook that day, Lawyer Kim said, "I think Chairman Yoo knows better than anyone who truly follows the 'Roh Moo-hyun spirit,' that my decision was made without selfish motives, and why I am acting this way."

Earlier, on the 18th, Chairman Yoo said on his YouTube channel 'Yoo Si-min's Alileo' regarding Lawyer Kim's challenge in Gangseo-gap, the constituency of Democratic Party lawmaker Geum Tae-seop, "Starting politics with intra-party competition over party identity is not very wise for oneself."

He added, "If I were Lawyer Kim, I would boldly go to a tough district as a strong candidate for the Democratic Party. It's a bit unfortunate."

Regarding this, Lawyer Kim said, "(Chairman Yoo) also gave me similar advice via text message. I sincerely thank Chairman Yoo, whom I have respected since university, for advising and taking care of me."

He continued, "I thought he made those remarks without knowing the various circumstances and situations behind my decision, so I wrote a long post explaining all the details. Although Chairman Yoo did not make any special comments, I believe he fully understood that my decision was truly made without selfish motives and in accordance with the 'Roh Moo-hyun spirit.'"

He added, "I believe he clearly knows that the path I intend to take is one that aligns with very basic common sense and propriety."

He said, "I did not run because of personal ambition to become a 'member of the National Assembly,' but because I believe that sharing more, serving, caring for each other, and doing good deeds are for a better society, and to expand the domain of the democratic progressive camp."

Lawyer Kim emphasized, "Regardless of whether I become a member of the National Assembly or not, I intend to engage in politics based on promises to the people and fundamental common sense and propriety."
