[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] The 'SBS Inkigayo Super Concert in Daegu,' which even faced a national petition demanding its cancellation, has ultimately been postponed indefinitely.

On the 19th, SBS announced through an official statement, "'SBS Inkigayo Super Concert in Daegu' has been unavoidably postponed indefinitely to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to ensure the safety of the audience and performers," adding, "The concert schedule will be announced later on the official website."

Earlier, on the 18th, SBS postponed the first round of audience ticket applications as a safety measure against COVID-19. However, as numerous confirmed COVID-19 cases emerged in Daegu and requests to cancel or postpone the super concert intensified, the event was eventually postponed indefinitely.

The super concert is a free performance featuring K-pop artists such as BTS, Zico, and NCT, attracting many fans not only domestically but also from overseas, raising concerns that the COVID-19 prevention system could face serious challenges.

Meanwhile, Daegu City is reported to have postponed all events, including the 'Daegu Citizens' Day' scheduled for the 21st, for the time being.
