[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The second death due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has occurred in Hong Kong.
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 19th, the deceased patient was a man in his 70s who tested positive for COVID-19 on the 14th and was receiving treatment at Princess Margaret Hospital. He died around 7 a.m. that day as his symptoms worsened.
The man is reported to have visited mainland China last month.
This case is the second death from COVID-19 in Hong Kong, following the death of a 39-year-old man who was being treated at Princess Margaret Hospital on the 4th.
Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong has reached 62. With this death, the total number of deaths outside mainland China has increased to six.
