[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do recently announced on the 19th that it held the Jindo-gun Festival Promotion Committee meeting to promote the 42nd Jindo Mysterious Sea Road Festival.
The Jindo-gun Festival Promotion Committee reviewed the promotion plan and discussed improvement measures based on last year's festival results, presenting various opinions for a successful festival.
Since it is a famous festival visited by more than 570,000 domestic and international tourists last year, in-depth discussions were also held on measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and prevention strategies.
In particular, this year, a large tent will be separately installed and operated to provide food to tourists in a cleaner environment and to operate a promotional zone for local agricultural, marine, and specialty products.
The highlight of this festival, the opening performance, is composed of various stages that people of all ages can enjoy together.
Performances are scheduled by trot singer Song Ga-in, a native and promotional ambassador of Jindo-gun, the world-renowned b-boy Jinjo Crew, and the Yangsan City Choir.
A tourism official from Jindo-gun said, “We will prepare the festival more substantial and solid than any other year and do our best to revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to the COVID-19 virus.”
Meanwhile, the Jindo Mysterious Sea Road Festival will be held for four days from April 8 to 11 between Hoedong-ri, Gogun-myeon, and Modo-ri, Uisin-myeon, where a 2.8 km-long and approximately 40 m-wide sea road opens due to the tidal difference.
