On the 19th, Jeon Hee-kyung, spokesperson for the United Party, said in a statement, "The prologue to the nuclear phase-out disaster under Moon Jae-in, which brought down even solid large corporations overnight, has begun."
Spokesperson Jeon stated, "The Moon Jae-in administration declared the nuclear phase-out policy in 2018 and canceled the construction of new nuclear power plants. This caused even a leading company, which had global competitiveness in manufacturing reactors?the core equipment of nuclear power plants?to fall into the abyss of insolvency," adding, "Due to the Moon Jae-in administration's superstition, stable work and secure jobs disappeared in an instant."
He said, "Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, which operates nuclear power plants, even reduced and manipulated economic feasibility to prematurely shut down functioning nuclear reactors, and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), which supplies electricity, turned its profits into losses and announced plans to raise industrial electricity rates," criticizing, "The nuclear phase-out policy that eliminates work for solid companies and kicks away the livelihoods of hardworking citizens is truly a robbery that steals jobs."
