[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 19th, lawyer Kim Nam-guk, who announced his intention to run for the Gangseo-gap district in Seoul, said to Geum Tae-seop, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, "'Protecting Cho Kuk = Prosecutorial Reform'?are you ashamed of this? I am proud to have held a candle with the people for prosecutorial reform."

On the same day, Kim posted on his Facebook, "Mr. Geum, many citizens and members of our democratic progressive camp read and understand 'Protecting Cho Kuk' as 'Prosecutorial Reform,'" and asked, "Are you opposed to 'prosecutorial reform'?"

He said, "Millions of citizens devoted themselves, even sacrificing their livelihoods, to create the candlelight for prosecutorial reform," and asked, "Are you ashamed of the candlelight that many citizens in our democratic progressive camp held?"

He continued, "Last year, I am truly proud to have held the candlelight for prosecutorial reform and protecting Cho Kuk together with the people on the streets, and to have protected the streets by cleaning together as a volunteer group of the Ddanji Board and the Gaegukbon (National Movement Headquarters for Fierce Fights)."

Additionally, lawyer Kim said, "From the hot summer last year to the bitter cold winter, many citizens came out to the streets holding candles and shouted 'Prosecutorial Reform' and 'Protecting Cho Kuk.' Many people from the Gaegukbon volunteer group and the Ddanji Board volunteer group stayed overnight from Friday evening to prepare for the candlelight rally at 3 p.m., and after the rally ended, they cleaned the streets until dawn the next day."
