Democratic Party Announces 3rd Round of Gwangju and Jeonnam Primary Regions... 5 More Confirmed


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Democratic Party's Nomination Management Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Nomination Committee) decided on five additional primary election districts in Gwangju and Jeonnam on the 19th.


Representative Lee Gae-ho of Jeonnam Damyang, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, and Jangseong was nominated unopposed.


With this decision by the Nomination Committee, five out of the 18 constituencies in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions remain under continued review.


By region, fierce competition is expected in Gwangju Dongnam-gap (Yoon Young-deok, Choi Young-ho), Gwangsan-gap (Lee Seok-hyung, Lee Yong-bin), Gwangsan-eul (Min Hyeong-bae, Park Si-jong), Jeonnam Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, Gangjin (Kim Seung-nam, Han Myung-jin), and Yeongam, Muan, Sinan (Baek Jae-wook, Seo Sam-seok).


Currently, the areas still under continued review include two districts in Gwangju: Seo-gu Gap and Seo-gu Eul, and three districts in Jeonnam: Yeosu-gap, Suncheon, and Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye.


Meanwhile, in the first round, Gwangju's Dongnam-eul (Kim Hae-kyung, Lee Byung-hoon), Buk-gu Gap (Jung Jun-ho, Jo Oh-seop), and Buk-gu Eul (Lee Hyeong-seok, Jeon Jin-sook) were announced as primary election districts, along with one district in Jeonnam: Haenam, Wando, Jindo (Yoon Gwang-guk, Yoon Jae-gap).


In the second round, three districts were confirmed as primary election districts: Jeonnam Naju, Hwasun (Kim Byeong-won, Son Geum-ju, Shin Jeong-hoon), Mokpo City (Kim Won-i, Woo Gi-jong), and Yeosu City Eul (Kim Hoe-jae, Jung Ki-myeong).
