Five Areas Including National Welfare, Daily Life, and Employment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 18th that it will jointly hold the "Public Regulation Innovation Task Contest" with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety from the 19th of this month to the 19th of next month.
Public regulation innovation means completely changing and renewing regulations (laws, systems, rules, etc.) that ordinary citizens experience in their daily lives.
The contest fields are divided into five areas: public welfare, daily life, employment and jobs, support for small business owners and SMEs, and new industries.
Multiple submissions are allowed, but simple suggestions, complaints, petitions, tax reductions, subsidy payments, and proposals adopted by other agencies are excluded.
Submitted tasks will be reviewed by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Public Regulation Review Team," composed of experts in regulation, welfare, and small business owners, and outstanding tasks will be selected in October.
Selected tasks will receive prizes of 500,000 KRW for the grand prize (1 person), 300,000 KRW for excellence awards (3 people), and 100,000 KRW for encouragement awards (16 people), along with the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award.
Anyone can participate in the contest, and submission forms can be downloaded from the city's website notice board and submitted by registered mail (postmarked on the contest deadline day only) or email.
Chaekyung-gi, the city's legal affairs officer, said, "Gwangju City is doing its best as a communication channel for regulatory improvement by discovering field-centered regulations through joint field meetings with the government and operating a local regulation reporting center," adding, "We hope for active participation from citizens, companies, and organizations in this contest to actively discover tasks that resolve daily inconveniences and obstacles to revitalizing the local economy."
