Deputy Minister Jang Seok-young Meets Cable TV Industry to Review COVID-19 Response Status

[Asia Economy Reporter Seolgina Jo] On the afternoon of the 18th, Jang Seok-young, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, held a meeting with representatives of the cable TV industry at the LG HelloVision broadcasting site to listen to the current status and difficulties in responding to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, the cable TV industry is actively working to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by frequently providing close-contact information related to COVID-19 to local residents through special alert systems and subtitle broadcasts on regional channels. At this meeting, Vice Minister Jang Seok-young expressed gratitude for the active cooperation of the cable TV industry in efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and encouraged the on-site employees.

He said, "Going forward, please leverage the strengths of broadcasters based in local communities, closely cooperate with local governments and communities, and strive for the safety of local residents," while requesting, "special attention be paid to strengthening on-site quarantine measures and to the prevention of infectious diseases among workers by adhering to infection prevention rules and behavioral guidelines.
