[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency will continue to provide job competency enhancement training for employees of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province this year, following last year.
On the 18th, the Gyeonggi Economic Science Agency announced that it will open and operate the 'GBSA Academy' with a total of 270 sessions for about 4,500 participants this year to enhance the competitiveness of SMEs in the province.
The GBSA Academy, designated as the Ministry of Employment and Labor's 'Regional Industry Customized Workforce Training Project' this year, will invite expert instructors in fields such as quality, machinery, information and communication, electrical and electronics, and furniture to conduct 23 courses and 60 training sessions.
In addition, the agency operates 'Customized On-site Corporate Training' designed for SMEs that find it difficult to conduct external commissioned or in-house training, and the 'Global CEO Trade Academy,' which systematically covers everything from basic trade to practical overseas marketing. The training fees are charged only at cost.
Kim Ki-jun, Director of the Gyeonggi Economic Science Agency, stated, "Strengthening the capabilities of SMEs begins with education," and added, "This year as well, the GBSA Academy will do its best to provide the best education reflecting the educational needs and trends of businesspeople so that SMEs can achieve innovative growth."
Last year, the Gyeonggi Economic Science Agency produced 5,493 graduates from 1,151 companies through the GBSA Academy.
