Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member Park Jin-kwon Proposes 'Ordinance on the Preservation and Management of Agricultural and Fishery Heritage' Park Jin-kwon, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Park Jin-gwon, a member of the Jeollanam-do Provincial Council, announced on the 17th that the "Jeollanam-do Agricultural and Fishery Heritage Preservation and Management Ordinance," which he proposed as the main sponsor, passed the review of the 1st Agriculture and Fisheries Committee at the 337th extraordinary session on the 13th.

This ordinance holds significance in establishing the basis for support to systematically preserve, manage, and utilize Jeollanam-do's agricultural and fishery heritage by discovering such heritage and promoting its designation as nationally and globally important agricultural and fishery heritage.

Assemblyman Park Jin-gwon stated, "Among the agricultural and fishery heritage sites in the province, about ten have been designated as nationally important heritage sites, but support was only provided for three years after designation, resulting in insufficient support for preservation and management thereafter, causing many difficulties. With the enactment of this ordinance, we hope it will provide an opportunity for our proud agricultural and fishery heritage, passed down for centuries, to be inherited and developed, and also contribute to revitalizing the local economy."

Meanwhile, this ordinance will be voted on at the plenary session of the Provincial Council's extraordinary session on the 21st.
