[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jong-gil] Poet Lee Sang-guk has been appointed as the chairman of the Korean Writers' Association. The association announced on the 17th that at the recently held 33rd regular general meeting, poet Lee was elected as the new chairman and poet Shin Hyun-su as the secretary-general. The term is two years. Chairman Lee debuted in 1976. His representative works include poetry collections The Moon Is Still That Moon and The Ox Going to Tomorrow. He has received the Modern Buddhist Literature Award, Jeong Ji-yong Literature Award, Baek Seok Literature Award, and the National Art Award. Secretary-General Shin debuted in 1985 and has published poetry collections such as The Road to Seosan and A Day in Heaven.
