The Korea Baduk Association announced on the 17th that it will convey Shin Jin-seo's intentions to the Chinese Baduk Association and remit the funds to the relevant organizations. Shin also donated an additional 5 million won in scholarships, requesting that it be used for research students studying Go under difficult circumstances.
Shin Jin-seo, who became a professional player through the first Young Pro Qualification Tournament in 2012, defeated Park Jeong-hwan (27), 9-dan, with an overall score of 2-0 in the best-of-three finals of the 24th LG Cup Chosun Ilbo King of Kings Tournament, which concluded on the 12th, achieving his first major international tournament victory since turning professional.
Meanwhile, on the 3rd, Lee Chang-ho, 9-dan, also donated 10 million won to aid COVID-19 recovery efforts. This donation was delivered on the 13th to the Wuhan University Education Development Foundation through Lee Sedol, 6-dan, from Wuhan, affiliated with the Chinese Baduk Association.
