Maxlotec, Enters Smart Factory Business Based on AI Platform

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Maxlotec announced on the 17th that it will enter the smart factory business with a factory automation system utilizing an AI platform.

Maxlotec's smart factory business is planned to be conducted based on the newly commercialized gantry robot and the new industrial metal 3D printer product ‘DABO’. A Maxlotec official stated, "The new management team, composed of ICT and smart factory experts, has decided to accelerate the AI-based smart factory business as a new business this year," adding, "Through this, we have been able to expand our business scope from mainly large automobile manufacturers such as Hyundai and Kia to semiconductor, chemical, and other general manufacturers as well as small and medium-sized manufacturing companies."

The official added, "In the process of supplying automated equipment and machine tools to production lines of large manufacturers, we acquired technology and know-how related to automation systems, and by integrating this robot technology with metal 3D printers, we have developed excellent technological capabilities that can meet all the conditions desired by customers."

Maxlotec is currently negotiating contracts to provide 100% unmanned smart factory solutions through AI platforms with domestic manufacturers. Especially, in unprecedented situations such as the recent COVID-19 virus causing factory operations to halt, it is expected that demand for factory automation equipment will continuously increase in the future.

The smart factory market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 7.4%, and it is anticipated to be a catalyst for the transformation of manufacturing methods, including customized mass production, flexible production, and software-centered digital production management, following the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
