[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] On the 17th, Park Jiwon, a member of the Alternative New Party, expressed regret over the Democratic Party's handling of the backlash after filing a complaint with the prosecution against Professor Im Miri of Korea University, who wrote a column titled 'Everyone Except the Democratic Party.'

On the same day, appearing on KBS Radio's 'Kim Kyung-rae's Strongest Current Affairs,' Park said, "I believe the Democratic Party handled it poorly," and added, "There is criticism about withdrawing the complaint quietly, but as a public party, the Democratic Party should have clearly and cleanly stated, 'This was wrong, so we are withdrawing it, and we apologize to Professor Im.'"

Regarding Professor Im's demand for an apology from the party leadership, Park said, "It would have been better if the Democratic Party had apologized from the beginning, but Professor Im's demand is somewhat excessive," and added, "As a scholar, she can express her opinion (to exclude only the Democratic Party), but from the Democratic Party's perspective, it is something they cannot be happy about."

When asked about the final merger declaration of the Democratic Integration Party (Bareunmirae Party, Alternative New Party, Democratic Peace Party), Park said, "They need to make a declaration, but that itself will be very difficult," and added, "Bareunmirae Party leader Sohn Hak-kyu held a supreme council meeting yesterday, but it seems that it will not be finalized well."

He also added, "There is still a lot of time until the general election, so we will try harder."
