Gwangju Nambu Fire Station Conducts Fire Safety Education in Natural Villages

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Nambu Fire Station announced on the 17th that it will conduct fire safety education for remote natural villages until the 29th.

Remote natural villages are located within approximately 10 km of the fire station, which may delay arrival times during dispatch, making them blind spots for receiving prompt fire services and places where fire safety education is essential.

Due to the characteristics of natural villages, where elderly residents are concentrated and an increase in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is expected during winter, on-site education has been promoted.

The education covers ▲ prevention and response methods for COVID-19 virus infections ▲ use and treatment of fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) ▲ emergency treatment for fractures caused by falls on icy roads. Additionally, promotional materials and booklets are distributed for regular reading.

Chief Jeong Seonmo said, “Natural villages with a high concentration of elderly residents may experience delayed initial response during fire, rescue, and emergency situations, which can increase casualties. We will continue to provide visiting fire safety education to ensure these natural villages become safe.”
